Darcy Phillips, executive director, said the Great Community Cleanup included 26 sites across the region with approximately 875 volunteers participating. She singled out a site at Solomon Circle (adjacent to Sierra Nevada Corporation and BLM land) and said the volume of dumped material there "was more trash at this site than we had the entire previous year," prompting staff and contractor involvement.
Phillips described regular programs—Truckee River cleanup, adopt-a-spot, tree planting—and said the organization coordinates with parks and recreation and public works. She noted upcoming events and fundraisers (annual fundraiser Aug. 20; Truckee River cleanup Sept. 26) and asked councilors to let staff know if they were not receiving quarterly reports on work in their wards.
Council members praised the volunteer effort and confirmed the adopt-a-spot program's expectations (Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful requires three cleanups per adoptee and manages roughly 75–80 parks in backlog), and thanked staff and volunteers for ongoing maintenance.
