The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors and the county Economic Development Authority met in a joint workshop on May 5, 2026, at the Cumberland County Circuit Courtroom. Board Chairman John Newman called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and Deputy Clerk Tiana Branch performed roll call, which showed Supervisor Eurika Tyree absent.
Supervisor Paul Stimpson moved that the Board approve the agenda as presented; Supervisor Robert Saunders seconded. The motion carried with votes recorded as: Mr. Hamlet – aye; Mr. Newman – aye; Mrs. Tyree – absent; Mr. Stimpson – aye; Mr. Saunders – aye. Separately, EDA Chairman John Seal and Directors amended and approved the Authority agenda after a motion by Director James Ennis and a second by Director Glenn Mozingo; the Authority's votes were unanimous among those present.
The meeting continued with scheduled presentations and administrative business before the EDA and the Board took separate adjournment actions. The Authority adjourned until its next regular meeting on May 19, 2026; the Board adjourned until its monthly meeting on May 12, 2026.
