EDA inspects property for 200-foot water storage tank under Tobacco Commission grant

James Houchins and Mark Vernon inspected a parcel thought suitable for a 200-foot water storage tank that could serve Rich Creek Corporate Park and the Patrick Springs area and provide backup capacity for the Town of Stuart as part of a Tobacco Commission-funded project. Houchins said he will contact the landowner to pursue an agreement to retain the property for the project.
Noah Mabe provided Patrick County GIS base files to Dewberry to support the Future Sites Evaluation; staff described the site work as part of the Tobacco Commission grant deliverables and site-selection process. The Authority received the update as informational; no formal land acquisition or commitment was recorded at the meeting.
