James Houchins told the Authority that the updated Preliminary Engineering Report for the Meadows of Dan Community Improvements Project shows estimated costs for each phase have risen considerably since the project's 2017 estimates. Houchins said the change in projected costs will require renewed engagement with the Meadows of Dan community to secure buy-in and discuss possible phasing or funding strategies.
Houchins said he expects to start community outreach within the month. No formal decisions, funding commits, or schedules were adopted at the meeting; the report was presented as an update and staff indicated further outreach is needed before any final project actions.
