Winnfield, La. — Bob Holeman, publisher of the Winn Parish Journal, told the Winn Parish Police Jury on July 21 that he is retiring and handing the newspaper to longtime staffer Kaycie Kile.
Holeman said he ran the Winn Parish Enterprise for 25 years and the Coushatta paper for 10 years before that, and that he returned from retirement to run the Winn Parish Journal two years ago (marked June 1). He told the Jury he has "enjoyed working with the Community and the Jury but is now ready to retire again" and asked the Jury to support Kaycie Kile, who has been with the Journal for four years and manages technology.
The announcement was made during the public-comment portion of the meeting; the Jury did not take formal action on the item.
