Houston County approves $593,000 engineering agreement for St. Patrick’s Drive extension

Commissioner Byrd presented a request to contract for engineering services to support the St. Patrick’s Drive Extension project. The board voted unanimously to enter into an agreement with Saunders Engineering Consultants, Inc., of Centerville, Georgia, for $593,000 to provide surveying, a traffic study, and an environmental study required to satisfy Georgia Department of Transportation funding requirements. The project is estimated to take 10 months and will be funded from the 2024 SPLOST.
Chairman Perdue thanked the Georgia Department of Transportation for their support, noting that GDOT involvement is expected to help the project proceed without phasing. The motion was recorded as carried unanimously.
