Houston County approved the purchase of four Chevrolet Tahoe PPV vehicles from Donohoo Chevrolet at $49,900 apiece for a total of $199,600, to be funded by 2018 SPLOST. Commissioner Gottwals presented the item; the Board voted in favor. Chairman Perdue thanked Purchasing and Sheriff's staff for locating in‑stock vehicles for timely acquisition.
The Board also declared a set of county items surplus and authorized listing them for sale on GovDeals: 40 Dell desktops without hard drives, 100 Dell monitors and 2 manual stencil machines; additional items (radars, a lidar unit, AED units and various radios) were declared surplus for disposal. These steps allow the county to dispose of or sell obsolete equipment and recover some value for county funds.
