Houston County approved an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Houston County School District to reimburse costs not to exceed $109,760 for construction of a 500‑foot turn lane on Kings Chapel Road outside Kings Chapel Elementary School. The funding source is 2018 SPLOST. Commissioner Gottwals presented the item and the motion passed with votes from Gottwals, Talton and Robinson.
Chairman Perdue said the project aims to improve traffic flow during drop‑off and pick‑up times at the school. The agreement formalizes the county’s share of the cost and assigns responsibility for project delivery as specified in the IGA paperwork.
