Board approves court reporter and conflict-counsel contracts for FY26

The board voted unanimously to approve four employment contracts for Superior Court court reporters—each at $69,500—for Courtney Bridges, Joy Malone, Connie Montgomery and Wendy Nelson. The motion passed on a second and was carried by all commissioners present.
Commissioner Byrd also moved to renew Independent Contractor Agreements for conflict counsel for the Houston County Public Defender's Office where there is a conflict of interest. The four attorney contracts—each $90,000—were approved for Jeffrey L. Grube, Sasha Riedel Knight, Matthew Pollard and Jonathan Perry Waters.
