Houston County approves $271,249 work-detail agreement with state corrections

Commissioner Byrd moved, and Commissioner Talton seconded, approval of a Work Detail Agreement with the Georgia Department of Corrections for five work details at a total cost not to exceed $271,249. The board approved the agreement unanimously; funding and crew assignments were specified: two crews from Solid Waste Collections, two crews from the Water Department, and one crew from Solid Waste Disposal.
Byrd said the combination of Department of Corrections details and contractor work crews has improved the appearance of county rights-of-way. Chairman Perdue thanked Public Works staff for facilitating the agreement.
