Commissioners approve $16,000 study for Dunbar Road drainage

The Houston County Board approved a professional services agreement with Saunders Engineering Consultants, Inc., of Centerville to study drainage along a portion of Dunbar Road. The study will cost $16,000 and will be charged to the Public Works Professional Services account; the motion passed unanimously (motion by Commissioner Robinson, second by Commissioner Byrd).
Chairman Perdue noted a history of drainage problems in the area and thanked Director of Operations Brian Jones and Public Works staff for advancing the project. The study is intended to assess causes and recommend engineering solutions prior to any construction or capital funding requests.
