Reedy said the measure updates provisions that date back to a 1939 private-act framework and is subject to local approval.
Committee members asked for local context about Benton County during the discussion; Reedy described local attractions including the Freshwater Pearl Museum and Birdsong Marina and noted a marker commemorating the Patsy Cline crash site. The chair then opened the roll call for a vote; the clerk reported 9 ayes and 0 noes. The chair announced the bill "passes and goes on to state and local government."
