Calumet County Public Safety Committee approves agenda and prior minutes unanimously

Chair Peter Stier called the Calumet County Public Safety Committee to order at 8:30 a.m. on March 4, 2026. Supervisors Peter Stier, Alice Connors, Bruce Laughrin, Joseph Mueller and Andy Cleveland were recorded as present, and staff from the Calumet County Sheriff's Office attended.
Supervisor Alice Connors moved to approve the meeting agenda; Supervisor Bruce Laughrin seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Later, Supervisor Andy Cleveland moved to approve the minutes of the Feb. 4, 2026 meeting; Chair Peter Stier seconded and that motion also carried unanimously. Both approvals were recorded without dissent.
During the committee reports, a committee member stated, "Court legislation that has been pending looks good. This should be passed this session." The minutes record the comment under "Report of Committee Members" but do not identify which supervisor spoke or provide further detail about the legislation referenced.
The committee scheduled its next meeting for April 1, 2026. Chair Peter Stier adjourned the session at 9:07 a.m. The minutes for the March 4 meeting were noted as unapproved in the record and later approved on May 6, 2026.
