Van Buren County supervisors adopt revitalization-area ordinance

The Van Buren County Board of Supervisors waived the third reading and adopted Van Buren County Ordinance #2023-3, Amendment 1 on Feb. 17, 2025. The ordinance designates an area within the county’s corporate boundaries as a revitalization area and adds a revitalization plan for that area.
On a motion by Supervisor House, seconded by Supervisor Waugh, the board waived the 3rd and final reading. The board then acknowledged and approved the ordinance upon roll call vote: Meek — Aye; Waugh — Aye; House — Aye. The minutes record that the board received no written or oral public comments on the proposed ordinance.
The ordinance was presented as part of routine business during the Feb. 17 meeting and will be part of the county’s official code following adoption. The board did not record any amendments during the meeting and no implementation dates or follow-up assignments were listed in the minutes.
