Tommy Westmoreland sworn in as Rio Communities municipal judge

Tommy Westmoreland was sworn in as the city's municipal judge after repeating the oath administered by the official on the dais. After the ceremony several councilors welcomed the judge. The finance officer noted that municipal court activity will add modest revenue as the court becomes operational, which staff listed as a non‑material revenue source expected to help the budget over time.

"I, Tommy Westmoreland, do solemnly swear that I will support the constitution of The United States and the constitution and the laws of the State of New Mexico... and faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of the municipal judge," Westmoreland recited during the oath. Council thanked him for stepping into the position and staff said they will complete staffing and administrative steps to bring the court online.
