The Town of Danville Board of Selectmen on July 13 approved $214,835 in repairs to town roads, contingent on verification of an encumbrance budget line. Road Agent Jimmy Seaver said the work will mirror last year’s patching approach and described the repairs as temporary “band-aids.”
Seaver estimated the total project cost at about $214,000 and said $50,000 in encumbered funds are earmarked for Back Road, leaving roughly $164,000 to come from the current operating budget if encumbrances check out. Vice Chair Shawn O’Neil asked staff to verify what has been charged to the encumbrance line after noting potential discrepancies in other departments’ encumbrance accounting.
Shawn O’Neil moved to approve the suggested repairs for $214,835, with Selectman Joe Hester seconding. The motion passed unanimously and Chair Annemarie Inman signed the paperwork. Selectmen directed the administrator to confirm the encumbrance balance before disbursing funds.
