Bay Transit officials thank county for funding and stress service dependence for riders

Cunningham detailed rider stories — including a dialysis patient and a rider who would not be able to maintain employment without the service — and said Bay Transit serves the county through connections to Gloucester, Warsaw and Tappahannock. She offered to provide county staff with more granular trip counts for other jurisdictions and asked the board to continue supporting the local match.
Board members thanked Bay Transit and asked for follow-up data on ridership by county; staff said they would supply requested figures.
