Board approves $5.45M in encumbrances, names Title IX and federal program officers

On consent the Weatherford school board approved fund encumbrances totaling more than $5.4 million and designated district staff for Title IX, 504/ADA, EEO and federal program responsibilities for 2026–27.
The Weatherford Public Schools Board approved a consent agenda July 13 that included significant fund encumbrances and administrative designations. The minutes record General Fund encumbrances #1–#138 totaling $1,616,004.39; Building Fund encumbrances #1–#13 totaling $411,600.00; Child Nutrition Fund encumbrances #1–#19 totaling $163,802.90; and a Sinking Fund encumbrance #1 totaling $3,254,097.50. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Bryan Bayless and seconded by Matt Fast, and it passed 4–0 with one absence.
The consent agenda also included personnel and compliance designations: Steven Callen was approved as Title IX Coordinator; Melissa Jarvis as 504/ADA Coordinator; Garrett Smith, Mark Whalen, Meagan Merkey, Brad Howl, Brooke Brown, and Dru Svitak as Title IX deputy coordinators; Mark Harmon as EEO Officer; and Superintendent Mark Harmon and Assistant Superintendent Steven Callen as purchasing agents and authorized representatives for all federal programs including E-Rate and Child Nutrition for the 2026–2027 school year.
