Middlesex County delays final budget as schools await state funding

Walker said the local draft still shows about a $250,000 gap but noted that state actions could materially reduce that shortfall. Schools representative Dr. Seitz told supervisors the school division must "realistically issue contracts in May," warning that issuing contracts before state allocations are confirmed could lead to retroactive pay adjustments or staffing disruptions. The Board asked staff to present an amended calendar at the April 7 regular meeting and reached consensus to wait for the state budget before adopting the local budget.
