The Marion County School Board approved a piggyback agreement with Gatekeeper Systems USA to provide video coverage on school buses, including interior and exterior views. Dr. Danielle Brewer said the system will allow authorized personnel to access footage for accident, liability and incident investigations and to support student and staff safety.
Board members discussed the routine nature of the purchase and its relation to the district's fleet refresh; the motion passed unanimously. Trustees noted the recurring cost as buses are refreshed and affirmed the purchase supports transportation safety and liability investigations.
