Council recognizes local students and teams, accepts April financials

At its June 2 meeting the council recognized student athlete Kali Serigne and the N.P. Trist Beta Robotics Team, received a brief library update, adopted a blood-center resolution, and accepted the April 2026 financial summary by unanimous vote.

The St. Bernard Parish Council recognized local achievements and community groups at the June 2 meeting. By unanimous consent the council recognized Kali Serigne as the first student from St. Bernard Parish to earn a medal and place at the state-level fitness meet and also recognized the N.P. Trist Beta Robotics Team. The council recognized Lauren Clement, St. Bernard Parish Library Director, for a brief library update and adopted Resolution SBPC #2639-06-26 on behalf of the Blood Center in celebration of the country’s 250th anniversary; Suzy Potter was recognized during that discussion.
Separately, the council accepted the Monthly Financial Summary Statement of Revenues and Expenditures and Change in Fund Balance for April 2026 on a unanimous recorded vote (moved by Cindi Meyer, seconded by Gillis McCloskey). The meeting adjourned at 9:14 p.m. Copies of resolutions and ordinances are available for public viewing at the Clerk of Council’s office.
