Easter Egg Hunt review finds candy shortage and age-group confusion; Board to revisit planning
Summary
Park Board members reported a successful Easter Egg Hunt but identified a candy shortage due to larger eggs and raised concerns that the top advertised age (9) discouraged older children; members asked the subcommittee to revisit age groupings and candy/alternative treats.

Chair Tressa Miller said the Easter Egg Hunt had strong attendance and that the event went well overall but noted a candy shortage caused by purchasing slightly larger-than-usual eggs, which reduced the number of filled eggs available. She recommended ordering more candy and smaller eggs earlier in the year.
Student Member Aubree Rogers said some older children — specifically a 10-year-old — felt unwelcome because the highest advertised age group was 9, and she urged the Board to reconsider age groupings so older elementary students do not feel excluded. The Board asked the sponsorship subcommittee to consider age-group adjustments and non-chocolate options for future events.
