The Longswamp Township Planning Commission on June 3, 2025 voted to recommend that the Board of Supervisors grant Conditional Final Plan Approval for the Dollar General–Mertztown major land development, subject to the Hanover Engineering Associates (HEA) review letter dated May 30, 2025. The motion to recommend conditional approval was made by Kerry Meitzler and seconded by Chris Moore; the minutes record the vote as "All in favor."
Will Schwanke of Larson Design Group represented the applicant and reviewed plan revisions called out in the HEA letter. The commission noted administrative items tied to final recordation and construction: the Subdivision Plan was recorded on June 2, plan note 14 was added, monumentation was shown on Sheet C-3, the well isolation area identification will be reviewed by the engineer, the HOP (highway occupancy permit) was expected back within two weeks, the Developer's Improvement Agreement was under Township review, and both the Recreation Fee and the Stormwater Management Fee checks had been mailed to the Township.
The recommendation is advisory to the Board of Supervisors and does not itself approve construction. The HEA review letter (May 30, 2025) remains the conditions reference; additional technical items in that letter must be addressed before the Board acts.
