County library describes Vallejo tutoring pilot, local donations and ARPA-backed plan to continue summer program

"Within three days of opening our registration up throughout the city of Vallejo, we had 127 parents register their children for this program," a presenter said, underscoring local demand.
Program staff said they raised $27,925 in donations and gift cards from local partners — including the Solano Community Foundation, the Matt Garcia Foundation and local rotary clubs — to support the pilot. Staff added that they applied for ARPA funds with the Matt Garcia Foundation to sustain the program for the next two summers to allow time to pursue additional grants and community funding. The presenters described plans to expand service to Vallejo, Fairfield and Dixon in coming summers if funding is secured.
