County announcements included a notice of back-to-school vaccination clinics run by the health department in partnership with Wichita USD 259, with clinics scheduled on Aug. 17 and Aug. 24.
Tanya introduced the announcement and said "Stephanie is gonna cover the health department back to school free vaccinations that will be at USD $2.59 on August 17 and the 24th," later clarified in the meeting as Wichita USD 259.
Commissioners asked whether the clinics are limited to USD 259 students. Adrian, attending on Zoom, said clinics are not limited to Wichita schools and that students from any district or private school in Sedgwick County could attend. "Anybody in Wichita and Sedgwick County can be vaccinated," Adrian said.
Staff promised to send more information about how the clinics will work and which other school districts will be notified. The county also reminded commissioners of an online budget forum and an Aug. 21 public budget hearing.
