A planned permit modification to accommodate temporary operational changes during construction at the county's household hazardous waste (HHW) facility was pulled from the consent agenda at a commissioner 's request.
Chair said a commissioner indicated they were unaware of the item and asked to pull it for further review; the chair set the item to return on Aug. 14. "I am unaware of this, and so we may ask to pull this off of consent at the moment," the county staff member overseeing announcements said.
A staff representative explained KDHE must approve temporary modifications and that the county needs to provide construction dates and operational details in the permit request. "This right here is simply, because we're making modifications to the household hazardous waste facility... KDHE needs to approve the fact that we're going to have temporary modifications going on," a staff speaker said.
The board agreed to pull the item so commissioners can review details before taking action at the next meeting.
