Winter Lakes High School students highlight credit recovery, CTE cosmetology and College & Career Week

Principal Tiffany Clapper presented a Winter Lakes High School spotlight to the board on Feb. 11, describing supports the school offers for credit recovery and career preparation.
A student identified as Evette described regaining motivation, recovering credits and pursuing cosmetology. Academic Advisor Ms. Snively described college and career readiness opportunities supported through TRIO, ASPIRE and Oregon Goes to College. Staff listed recent activities including trade-career expos, college visits, career fairs and visits to Job Corps and community colleges.
Clapper reported that 10 students have earned diplomas this year and one student completed a GED as a five-year completer. She also highlighted the Cosmetology CTE program, including hands-on training and a student-run nail business project. Winter Lakes will host College and Career Week March 9–12 with resume workshops and mock interviews led by community volunteers.
