Commissioners flag full voucher payment to Boys and Girls Club despite monthly MOU

Commissioner Richards raised a concern that the county’s voucher to the Boys and Girls Club arrived as a full annual distribution and had already been approved before he noticed it. He referenced an October MOU calling for the amount to be disbursed in equal monthly payments. "I want to make sure that we all have it on our radar that in the future, these outside entities also understand that when we appropriate, that we're not just giving them a check up front," he said. Commissioners agreed the payment was already made but signaled they did not want the practice repeated.
The chair and other commissioners described the MOU mechanism as the reason for staggered distributions and agreed the clerk’s office should follow the agreed schedule going forward. The consent agenda then passed unanimously.
