Alan Sims reviewed Goal 3 language: "enhanced desired development through code changes" and a separate objective to "plan for access to nature." Councilors questioned whether 'plan' is specific enough and asked when actions should occur. Staff said they will hire a consultant to update town plans and include timeframes and iterations for council review (Staff member, SEG 704–708).
Members discussed specific actions: trails and Denton Creek connections are already in the existing plan but depend on private development; staff noted one active opportunity to purchase about 4.85 acres to create a preserve and trail. Council asked staff to include developer coordination, interconnectivity between areas, and a clearer schedule in the action plan so the town can move from planning to delivery as opportunities arise.
