Archer described recent maintenance: the primary tanks were emptied (approximately 25,000 gallons of accumulated material removed), staff are isolating and refurbishing the recirculation tank and checking which pumps serve which banks, and they expect to replace some filter-media sheets (pods) over time. He said the treatment system currently requires fewer banks in normal operation and estimated significant spare capacity once repairs are complete.
Archer emphasized efforts to avoid using city funds where possible and flagged continuing work on recirculation and pod maintenance as priorities. Council thanked staff for the operational work and for improving plant condition following the facilities-plan review earlier in the meeting.
