Council approves RTMP grants for community events: disc golf, Keg & Cask, concerts

The council considered three requests from the RTMP community-funding pool and approved funding for local events after discussion of available balances.

Jason, an applicant for the disc-golf tournament, requested an additional $1,250 to complete a $2,500 project budget; the council moved and passed a $1,250 RTMP award for the Oak Ridge Disc Golf Club (motion carried by roll call: Mayor Watson and councilors present voted aye). Deb Napoli, chair of the UW CDC, described the Keg & Cask festival (Aug. 8) and asked for support; the council approved $2,250 toward that request. Councilors also approved a $2,500 award to Oak Ridge Concerts in the Park.

Council members discussed the RTMP fund balance (about $6,050 available at the start of the item), options to split payments across fiscal years, and constraints on paying some other pending requests in the current fiscal cycle. Where invoices are required, staff asked applicants to submit invoices for preapproval of expenditures.
