The Mount Holly Select Board on Jan. 22 approved the town’s proposed 2026 budgets, adopting a $452,755 general fund budget and a $584,900 highway fund for a combined total of $1,037,655. Select Board member Jeff Chase told the board the municipal portion of taxes faced an 11% increase before proposed reductions and recommended reducing the early-payment discount to 3% and trimming highway labor and road retreatment expenses to lower the impact to about a 6% increase.
Chase moved to approve the budgets; Diana Garrow seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. The board discussed that further line-item adjustments in the highway budget would be used to manage the tax impact and that the early-payment discount change would be applied in the fiscal calculations for the coming year.
