On Oct. 21 the NICE Community School District Board of Education authorized the start of the ARS Sinking Fund Renovations Project and directed staff to explore borrowing against the Sinking Fund to finance the work.
The motion to "authorize the start of the ARS Sinking Fund Project as presented" passed on a roll call vote with five ayes (Kathleen Carlson, John Grove, Crystal LaFreniere, Scott Mann and Ron Mariani) and no nays recorded in the minutes. The motion record in the minutes indicates the board discussed the Sinking Fund as the funding vehicle and asked administration to examine borrowing options against the fund prior to next steps.
Board members did not record an amendment to the motion in the minutes; the vote was recorded as carried and the project start was authorized.
