The council approved Ordinance 26-39 to vacate approximately 0.12 acres of right-of-way along Westfield Boulevard and Park Street in downtown Westfield to enable recording of the Park and Poplar plat. Michael Pierce, the city engineer in Public Works, said the parcels were excess right-of-way no longer needed and that a scrivener's error in one of the legal descriptions would be corrected prior to final recording.
Pierce described the affected area and explained that small carve-outs created for stormwater when Westwood Boulevard was built will now be integrated into the Park and Poplar development. The council opened the required public hearing at 7:26 p.m. and closed it the same evening after no public comments were offered. The ordinance passed on roll call 7–0.
Staff noted the scrivener's correction would be signed and the corrected legal description used for recording.
