The board approved an updated four-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) to continue operations and accreditation for the Sweetwater Bomb Squad, which serves Sweetwater County and neighboring jurisdictions under FBI and Wyoming Homeland Security authority.
Under Sheriff Tomich said the squad is staffed by Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office members and Green River Police personnel; Rock Springs previously removed a member but is now interested in placing personnel through its police or fire departments. "This MOU is required for the accreditation that's coming up for the bomb squad in September," Under Sheriff Tomich said. Commissioners approved the MOU unanimously and authorized the chairman to sign.
