Council approves two collective bargaining agreements with Fraternal Order of Police

The New Castle County Council on July 28 adopted two separate resolutions authorizing the county executive to sign ratified collective bargaining agreements with the Fraternal Order of Police, New Castle County Lodge Number 5.
Resolution R26-156 covers the general CBA with the Lodge and was adopted by roll call (the clerk recorded 12 yes, 1 absent). The council then adopted R26-157, a CBA covering captains, majors and lieutenant colonel ranks, also by recorded vote (12 yes, 1 absent). Council President Monique Williams Johns thanked public-safety personnel and noted the agreements were previously discussed in executive/finance committee meetings and reflect negotiations completed with the union.
The resolutions authorize the county executive to execute the ratified agreements; the meeting record did not detail the monetary terms in full during the public session.
