The Administrative Finance Committee voted to suspend the rules on resolution 261159 so Monica Hill can be considered for appointment to the New Castle County Board of Assessment Review at tonight’s council meeting. Councilwoman Durham moved to suspend the rules, noting Hill is currently in Alaska and her resume demonstrates extensive involvement in the real estate community and local realtor organizations; the motion was seconded by the chair and approved by voice vote.
Durham told colleagues the board is "ramping up to hear more appeals" and that filling vacancies now would help the board keep pace. The committee recorded no opposition during the voice vote, and the chair said the appointment can proceed to the full council for final action.
