Commissioners approve reimbursement to Land Bank for demo grant contractor payment

During the July 27 session, the Chair asked staff member Jamie to explain a reimbursement related to a demolition grant administered through the county Land Bank. Jamie said the Land Bank initially paid the contractor from its checking account so the county is now reimbursing those amounts through county funds.
"So this is just getting reimbursed," Jamie said, describing the mechanics: the contract was set up to route funds through the county even though the Land Bank administered the grant. Commissioners moved, seconded, and approved the appropriation to reimburse the Land Bank for the payment the Land Bank had advanced.
The board also approved an appropriation for elder special projects (project 12043) during the same portion of the meeting; the Clerk recorded the votes. Jamie indicated the reimbursement followed earlier authorization to use Land Bank funds to ensure contractor payment would not be delayed.
