The Sweetwater County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved Resolution 24-12-CC-01 on Dec. 3, recognizing the public service of former Commissioner Roy Lloyd and expressing condolences to his family. The resolution lists Lloyd’s service dates (Jan. 7, 2019–Jan. 2, 2023) and several civic contributions, and directs that the Wyoming state flag at county facilities be lowered to half-staff until sundown on Dec. 11, 2024, or as otherwise directed by the governor.
Commissioners offered personal memories and remarks before the vote. Commissioner Richards said Lloyd "was a dedicated public servant who loved Sweetwater County" and recounted conversations that encouraged him to run for office. The motion to adopt the resolution was made by Commissioner Toman and seconded by Commissioner Jones; the board voted in favor without opposition. A copy of the resolution will be presented to Lloyd’s family.
