City Administrator Max Baker presented Resolution 873, the first part of a two-part resolution to accept a $5,000 Oregon Arts Commission grant awarded to the city library to support a community arts program and public art installations. The grant requires a $2,500 in-kind staff-time contribution and a $2,500 cash-match contribution; at the time of the meeting the cash-match shortfall was approximately $500–$700, but additional donations received in the preceding week were expected to close the gap prior to or shortly after the library's June fundraising dinner.
Baker said this is the final year the Oregon Arts Commission will require a match and that a supplemental budget may be necessary depending on timing. Resolution 873 will be brought forward for formal adoption at the next regular meeting.
