City Administrator Max Baker presented the proposed FY 2026-27 budget calendar: a Bridge article publication on April 21; budget committee meeting on May 13 (with a second May 20 meeting if needed); a budget hearing on May 25; and the Council's budget hearing during the first June meeting with adoption of the budget, water and sewer rates, and state revenue-sharing decisions at the second June meeting to allow tax certification by July 1.
Baker also reported that the strategic plan edits are complete and that three Public Works objectives were added: begin a rate study (anticipated in FY 2026-27), conduct annual master-plan reviews, and apply for the Small City Allotment Grant (which now offers up to $250,000 annually). He said an application is already in progress.
