Public Works: manhole coatings limited so far; one manhole estimated at 50 gpm infiltration
Summary
Public Works reported that only 9 of ~200 manholes have been coated, so inflow and infiltration (I&I) reductions are not yet statistically significant; staff estimated one manhole alone previously contributed about 50 gallons per minute of infiltration and will bring additional contractor quotes for further coating.

City Administrator Max Baker told the council that results from prior manhole coating work are not yet statistically significant because only 9 of approximately 200 manholes have been coated to date. Baker said one manhole alone was estimated to have contributed roughly 50 gallons per minute of infiltration before coating.
Baker said he would bring quotes for additional manhole coating work, including bids from two additional contractors, to a future meeting so the Council can consider further I&I reduction work.
