The Milbank Area Chamber requested use of city property for several 2025 events, including Cinco De Mayo Fiesta, Farmers Market, Farley Fest, 4th of July fireworks, Treat Street, and Hometown Christmas. After deliberation, Councilmember Mike Hanson moved and Councilmember John Weyh seconded to approve the request and waive all usage and electrical fees for 2025. The motion carried 4-1, with Councilmember Craig Weinberg opposed. Council asked the Chamber to submit a summary of events and vendor usage after each event.
A public hearing was held on alcohol applications for the Cinco De Mayo Fiesta and Farley Fest; no members of the public spoke in opposition. Councilmember Craig Weinberg moved and Councilmember Mike Hanson seconded to approve the licenses and waive fees for 2025; the motion passed 5-0. The city will process the licenses and the fee waivers as adopted.
