Milbank City Administrator Steve Pendergrass told the council the police department operates two servers, one about 11 years old and the other recently failed. The council retroactively approved a $20,180.02 server replacement and a $1,171.32 purchase for body‑camera backup storage to reduce the risk of lost evidence.
"The quote to replace the servicer is $20,180.02," Pendergrass stated, and the council asked that any IT warranties be verified to be in the city's name and that the city not be bound to agreements should it choose to separate from Corporate Technologies. Craig Weinberg moved and Josh Karels seconded approval; the motion carried 5‑0.
