Westfir proposes 3% water increase, 4% sewer hike and a rate study

"This budget does reflect another increase in fees for water and sewer, a 3% increase in consumer water rates and 4% increase for sewer rates," she said, noting council consideration is pending.
Chitten said the increases were on last year’s schedule and that actual collections can vary with usage and weather; she recommended a formal rate study this coming fiscal year to ensure fees cover operating costs and future capital needs. The council is expected to consider the rate ordinance at a later meeting, with staff noting any formal approval remains pending until the council votes.
