The Milbank City Council on March 10 approved an amended agenda and a multi‑item consent agenda that included an appointment, multiple seasonal and Unity part‑time hires, and authorization for an engagement letter with auditors.
Mayor Pat Raffety asked to move approval of the camera bid to after the executive session and remove Tom Meyer from the Park maintenance consent item before Councilmember Craig Weinberg moved and John Weyh seconded approval of the amended agenda and consent items; the motion carried 5‑0. The consent actions included appointing Craig Weinberg to the consolidated board of equalization (effective April 8, 2025) and hiring several seasonal and part‑time staff for parks, recreation and Unity positions (hourly rates listed in the consent minutes). The council also accepted the resignation of wastewater maintenance employee Trey Jankord, effective March 21, 2025.
The council additionally authorized Mayor Raffety to sign a Letter of Engagement with EideBailly, LLC for 2024 audit services and approved publication of the meeting minutes for March 19, 2025.
