Board approves $743,700 medication-assisted treatment contract with Southwest Counseling

The board unanimously approved a continuation and expansion of a medication-assisted treatment (MAT) agreement for Southwest Counseling Service.
Linda Acre, CEO of Southwest Counseling, described an evidence-based MAT program funded through a drawdown contract with the Wyoming Department of Health, supporting 55 treatment slots (45 for opioid use disorder and 10 for stimulant disorders). The contract totals $743,700 for the period 09/30/2024 through 09/29/2025. "It is an evidence based program and we have done really well with this program," Acre told the commissioners.
Commissioners voiced support for additional treatment capacity and approved the contract, authorizing the chair to sign. Southwest Counseling noted September is Recovery Month and used the occasion to highlight local recovery services and outreach.
