Sweetwater County commissioners approved an at-will employment contract on Nov. 5 for a seasonal document-scanner/archiver position to be shared between the sheriff’s department and the county attorney’s office.
HR Director Gary McClain said the joint role will help meet a Wyoming statute requiring uploads to the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) for cold-case files and will assist the attorney’s office by digitizing voluminous old files. McClain described the employment as at-will with a maximum duration not to exceed six months and a typical workload under 30 hours per week. The motion to approve the contract passed unanimously.
