The Sweetwater County Board of County Commissioners on Nov. 5 ratified federal-state Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) contracts totaling $239,793 for fiscal year 2025 and authorized related agreements with local providers.
County Grants Manager Christina Marshall said the Wyoming Department of Health awarded Sweetwater County $239,793 to be used by local agencies selected by the Tripartite Board. Marshall detailed the allocations: Rock Springs Young at Heart, $59,420 (homemaker/CNA services and meals); Sweetwater Family Resource Center, $82,525 (housing assistance, emergency rent and utilities); YWCA of Sweetwater County, $61,600 (child care, rent/deposit assistance for victims); and $36,248 for county/Tripartite Board operations including a mandatory community needs assessment. Marshall told commissioners the grant requires no cash match and serves clients at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. After questions about timing and compliance, the board voted to ratify the contracts and authorized the chairman to sign.
