County delays FY27 budget filing, awaits revised tax roll; special meeting set

Commissioners agreed to table items 20 and 21 and scheduled a special meeting for next Tuesday at 10:00 AM to act on the budget once the tax-rate worksheets arrive. The judge said his office will finalize the proposed budget for distribution within a few days after receiving the appraisal district documents. Commissioners noted software issues affecting multiple appraisal districts and that last year’s schedule was also impacted.
The action delays formal tax-rate settings and preserves commissioners’ ability to adopt the budget and rate at the special meeting once materials are verified and posted.
